Research Approach and Mission at AGU
At Abdullah Gül University (AGU), scientific research is approached with a strong emphasis on creating societal impact and transforming knowledge into public benefit. In this context, AGU’s research mission is defined as:
“To contribute significantly to science and to diverse segments of society through research outputs that balance basic and applied research.”
In its Strategic Plan covering the years 2018–2022, AGU prioritized the execution of high-quality, advanced-level research. Within this framework, the following concrete goals were set:

Completion of designated laboratories and infrastructure facilities that address researchers’ urgent and priority research needs by the end of the strategic planning period

Doubling the number of interdisciplinary research projects conducted by researchers from different disciplines at AGU by the end of the same period
The university aims to carry out projects that contribute actively to the development of social, cultural, and economic life in Kayseri at the local level, and to the resolution of global problems and responsibilities at a broader scale—through collaboration between AGU researchers and relevant stakeholders.
This approach further strengthens the university’s vision of becoming a Third Generation University, where education, research, and societal contribution are seamlessly integrated.
